These terms ("Terms") govern your use of the Moss Lane Farm website and the Nature Recorder mobile app (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

The Service

The Service lets people record wildlife sightings on and around Moss Lane Farm and see a shared, community picture of biodiversity on the land. We may add, change or remove features over time.

Your account

When you first open the app it creates a simple, pseudonymous account for you. You are responsible for activity under your account. Please keep your chosen name and any content appropriate and lawful. You may add an email to keep your records across devices; keep your access to that email secure.

Children and supervised use

The app is often used by children during supervised activities such as Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) sessions. If you are under 18, please use the Service with the involvement of a parent, guardian or session leader. Organisers and parents/guardians are responsible for supervising children's use, including the camera and optional location features.

Acceptable use

When using the Service you agree that you will not:

submit false, misleading, offensive, unlawful or infringing content;
upload photos or videos you don't have the right to share, or that identify other people (especially children) without their permission;
disturb wildlife, damage habitats, trespass, or ignore site rules or the Countryside Code in order to make a record;
attempt to disrupt, misuse, reverse engineer or gain unauthorised access to the Service; or
use the Service for anything unlawful.

We may remove content or suspend access that breaches these Terms.

Your content

You keep ownership of the sightings, notes and media you submit ("Your Content"). By submitting Your Content you grant Moss Lane Farm a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display and share it as part of the Service — including on the public community map, the recent-sightings feed and our website — and for non-commercial purposes connected with the farm's nature-recovery and community work. You confirm you have the rights to grant this licence. You can delete Your Content in the app at any time.

Recording nature responsibly

Please record wildlife safely and respectfully: keep your distance, don't handle or disturb animals or plants, stay on permitted routes, and follow any guidance from farm staff or session leaders. The map position and location features are for recording where wildlife was seen — not for navigation.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep the Service running but can't guarantee it will always be available, error-free or uninterrupted. We may update, suspend or withdraw all or part of the Service, and we may update these Terms; continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". Community-submitted records may contain errors and are not verified scientific data. To the extent permitted by law, we give no warranties about the Service or its content.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Moss Lane Farm is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service or from content submitted by others. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence).

Ending your use

You can stop using the Service and delete your records at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights you have as a consumer.
